2020...sadly nothing happened

Picture
Due to the coronavirus pandemic most of our events were cancelled. We took the time to turn inwards and to individually work on our technique. We also took the opportunity to work with teachers we wouldn't normally get to work with as technology brought the world together. We were lucky that just before the pandemic started we had the opportunity to see the marvellous muscial "Um Kulthum and The Golden Era." at the London Palladium. The show was amazing and the atmosphere in the theatre fantastic.

2019...we are back

We appeared at several events this year both as soloists and dancing together again.

We enjoyed various workshops, parties and residential training opportunities.
We were pleased to appear again at LondonLive and Ellie also made the journey to Germany for CologneLive.

We were also pleased to present our first duet in some time, to a courtly Classical piece inspired by the tuition in Muwashah we have been receiving. We had a great reception to the two performances of this piece.

2018: LondonLive

Diane and Ellie were proud to be part of LondonLive 2018, appearing with Guy Schalom and The Baladi Blues Ensemble

2017-2014: Diane going solo

Whilst Ellie took a break, Diane was out and about at haflas and other charity events, dancing with our good friends, including KIm Cory who we have collaborated with on many occasions.

2013: Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

Colourfest- the first year of the fabulous yoga and dance festival in Dorset, reprise of Moulid choreographies at Haileybury, farewell to WADA and plenty of fun with friends old and new at workshops and events.

Reprise of our very rusty trio!
Picture
Diane, Ellie and Carol dusted off some very rusty choreography to make an appearance at the Raqs Sharqi Society spring school in Haileybury. Luckily for us the dance has some comedy moments which rather hid our failing memories!

Diane and Ellie then also reprised their folk piece 'Bambi Saaidi' for the summer school at Haileybury.

The teachers of the Raqs Sharqi Society have been the greatest inspiration in our journey through the dance. We are indebted to their long and caring tutorage!

2012: All our previous experience went into the biggest show yet...Ellie's wedding

The dress!!! The friends!!!! Dad walks Ellie up the aisle!
Well, it was just like any other show...costumes, music, choreography, tickets, an audience, refreshments and a performance!
